Wheeling is one of the riverside cities in the United States. The city is located on Wheeling island on the Ohio river and the river bank, is located on the skirts of the Apalas mountains, one of the most important mountain ranges in the northern part of the USA. Wheeling, which is also the second largest city in the state of West Virginia, is also home to the Wheeling Bridge, the world's first suspension bridge. The city's attractions apart from the historic Wheeling Bridge include Oglebay Park, where the world's largest light show is held during Christmas time, Oglebay Zoo, Glass Workshop and Museum, Kruger Toy and Train Museum. Wheeling is also home to the state's oldest and largest theaters.

Wheeling, a neighboring state to the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania in West Virginia, can be reached via two airports. While the Wheeling Ohio Regional Airport, 13 kilometers north-east of the city, is more frequently used for domestic flights, the Pittsburgh International Airport, 77 kilometers from the city center, is mostly used for international flights.
