Samsun Çarşamba Airport, which was put into service in 1998 in Çarşamba district of Samsun, started its first flights at the end of 1990s. Although it has a single terminal building, the airport organizes both domestic and international flights in the same building. There are flights to the airport from many cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Denizli, Cologne and Düsseldorf. By 2015, passenger transportation statistics of the airport increased to 1,642,756 by reaching the highest level. The airport is 20 km of Çarşamba district of Samsun.

Getting to the City Center from Çarşamba Airport

Samsun is the most developed and largest city of the Black Sea Region in Turkey. It is also a very dynamic city with a population of nearly 1.3 million people. Samsun is a developed city in terms of industry, agriculture and maritime transport. Urban transportation is provided by bus, minibus and taxi. It is possible to go to Amasya and Sivas from Samsun by train.

Havaş has shuttle services to Samsun city center, Bafra and Ordu. Shuttle services depart 20 or 30 minutes after the plane lands. Transportation to the city center takes about half an hour.

Taking a taxi is the most practical and fastest way of getting to the airport. You will not have any problem getting a taxi in the city and district centers. You can also bargain with the driver by saying that you are going to the airport.

Rent a car

Samsun Çarşamba Airport was established in 1998 and it began to serve for passenger flights in 1999. The first airport, which was closer to the city center, had caused some accidents due to small and unfavorable runways and then a new airport has been established in Çarşamba. The Çarşamba Airport has both domestic and international terminals. The airport covers a 11.500-km area.
