Rabat, located in the northwest of Morocco, is a city situated on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the river Bou Regreg. Located in the south of the city, Chellah ancient city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the city, located in a beautiful natural environment, is home to the Chellah Jazz Festival held every September. On the other hand, there are many festivals in May. The Mawazine Music Festival welcomes many local stars as well as world stars. The Candles Festival, in which people wander on the streets of the city with lanterns, is also held in May.

Rabat has many museums thanks to its rich history. Archeology Museum, Science and Nature Museum, Contemporary Art Museum, Ethnography Museum are just a few of these museums. Although there are various shopping centers in the city, you can also go to Consuls Street to be closer to the culture of Rabat.

The main ingredients of Rabat cuisine are spices. Especially saffron and mint are often used. Almost all of the dishes are made by using meat. Harira, tajine, seksu and bestila are some of the traditional dishes recommended to the visitors of the city. Tea also has an important place in Rabat culture. You can see many tea shops throughout the city where you can taste a great variety of local teas.
