About Mogadishu

Mogadishu, located on the eastern side of Africa, on the shores of the Indian Ocean, is the capital of Somalia. It is generally accepted that the city was founded in the 10th century by Arabs, who came here from various parts of Arabia, but especially from Lhasa, which was the scene of serious conflicts between Abbasids and the Karmatians, and by those who migrated here from the Iranian cities Shiraz and Nishabur. Mogadishu is also a seaside city. Mogadishu Port, serving as a large national port, is Somalia's largest port. In Mogadishu, there are sandy beaches, live coral reefs and markets, as well as historic and religious structures such as mosques.
