About Fergana

Fergana, one of the oldest settlements in Uzbekistan, is a beautiful city built on the valley with the same name. In the city which has a very rich historical and cultural background, especially the historical artifacts and remains are attracting attention. The city, where about 200 thousand people live, is very close to the borders of neighboring countries Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. It is estimated that the city, located 420 kilometers from the capital city of Tashkent, is the last place Alexander the Great reached during his famous campaign.

In Fergana, where terrestrial climate is dominant, winters are long and hard. Summer months, after the short spring, are shorter and milder. Located in Hokand, one of the most important settlements in the region, the spectacular Khan Palace, the Yodgorlik Silk Factory, Jami Mosque and Kumtepe Bazaar are among the places worth seeing in and around the city. Fergana also has restaurants where you can savor delicious Uzbek food and stores to shop. However, if you are not open to different tastes, it is a good idea to learn about the ingredients used before eating.

Transportation to Fergana City Center from Airport

Once you’ve landed in Fergana Airport then you can choose from a number of transport options to get to the city center, which is 5 km away. You can take a taxi, rent a car, use a transfer service, or take a bus or minibus if you prefer public transport. It takes around 10 minutes to go to Fergana city center from the airport depending on which option you choose.

Bus/Minibus

Once you leave arrivals at Fergana Airport you’ll come face to face with the bus and minibus stops. Bus lines 3 and 4 depart from in front of the terminal and travel along M Kasimov to reach the market in the city center. Minibus line 22 also takes you directly to the city center from the airport.

Taxi

You can take on of the taxis from outside arrivals at Fergana Airport and be at the city center in just 6-7 minutes. Most of the taxis at the airport will offer a fixed price that’s usually between 150-180 Russian Rubles.

Car Rental

You can get to the city center quickly and comfortably by renting a car. It’s probably the best option for overall transport during your stay if you’re going to be in Fergana for more than a couple of days.
