The stream that feeds the dam gives the town its green areas of vegetation. Errachidia is a city that is very clearly under a desert climate. Hardly any rain falls throughout the year, and during summer the daytime temperature soars to over 30C. July and August can see temperatures as high as 40C, but at night the temperature drops considerably.

Lalla Mimouna Museum is a rich museum dedicated to local culture and history, with detailed exhibits giving information about the life, culture and crafts of the region and the Berbers. It is possible to go to desert safaris or even to camp in the desert for a few days,  in the presence of guides from the local community. Tea is often consumed in Errachidia and tea gardens are found in many places as it is in all Morocco. The refreshing mint tea can be tried and you can get packets of this as a souvenir.
