It is located to the south of Oklahoma City and to the north of Dallas, situated in the middle of these two important cities. Both cities can be reached by Ardmore using the highway; it takes about 1-½ hours. With a small-town atmosphere Ardmore stands out for its outdoor events. Located in the city, Lake Murray, Lake of the Arbuckles, and Lake Texoma feature many activities such as watersports, camping, boating, mountain biking, and more. In addition, the spectacular natural beauty of Turner Falls Park and its waterfall and the swimming area created by that waterfall provides a blissful relaxation area. Oklahoma’s first national park, Chickasaw State Park, is also located in Ardmore.
