Mosul is very rich in terms of historical buildings. It has many different structures in terms of historical mosques, castles, churches and schools; Umeyye Mosque, Al-Habda named brick minaret are some of these. The national museum hosting many historical pieces of the ancient city of Ninova is also an important place to visit. Many religious stories take place in the city which hosts shrines.
