About Kalymnos Island
Kalymnos, one of Greece's 12 Island archipelagos, is an Aegean island very close to Kos and Leros islands. Located very close to the Bodrum peninsula, Kalymnos is a tourism paradise that welcomes many tourists every year with their beautiful bays and beaches. Highlands attract attention as you go from the coast to the inside. On the coast, the historical buildings and small port of the island are pounding.
One of the most important activities in the island is sponging. The people of Kalymnos have been sponging in traditional ways for many years. There are also countless possibilities for marine sports in the island. You can perform different activities here, especially diving and sailing, and if you want, you can join the climbing tours in mountainous areas. The best time to visit the island, which features typical Mediterranean climate, is from May to September. There are places like Archaeological Museum, Kalymnos Port and Museum of Naval History to visit.
